Yggdrasil Establish African Footprint With Intelligent Gaming Franchise
September 29, 2021
Top iGaming developer, Yggdrasil, has partnered with Intelligent Gaming Limited, a South African platform provider, finalising yet another Franchise partnership. The 15th of September saw the debut of Yggdrasil’s much-loved productions in South Africa.
Thanks to the innovative agreement, IGL has access to the premium supplier’s library and other value-added services and will distribute them.
Andrew Pegler, Director of Commercial Operations at Yggdrasil, commented on the partnership:
“This is a milestone achievement for Yggdrasil as we penetrate a massive market opportunity. We are very happy to have Intelligent Gaming as a Franchisee.”
The new partnership also opens doors for the rest of Africa to enjoy productions by Yggdrasil in a licensed and regulated setting.
A Premium Pairing
Yggdrasil was established in 2013 and has since launched approximately 150 online casino games and established a list of value-added products to their offering. They partner with top names in the industry around the globe and are recognised for their innovative and premium entertainment solutions.
IGL supplies digital content to operators and has a high standing within the South African iGaming industry. This collaboration will allow them access to the software provider’s award-winning online casino suite.
Andrew Pegler said: “This deal provides them with everything that has been created by Yggdrasil in the past eight years and will enhance their growing business operations in Africa. They are an ambitious, experienced, and well-connected supplier and see the huge potential of taking a Franchise in their key markets. This deal demonstrates how Yggdrasil is becoming a leading worldwide publisher of online gaming content.”
With the Franchise partnership, Yggdrasil presents so much more than just games to the platform provider, for example, its technology stack, and promotional tools.
Ready, Set, Go
IGL has successfully integrated with its new partner and has received the required regulatory approval. The popular sports betting and casino brand, Supabets, will be the first of IGL’s partners to offer Yggdrasil productions.
Marc Plaxton-Harrison, Co-Founder and CEO at Intelligent Gaming, added:
“Intelligent Gaming is extremely proud to be a Franchise partner for Yggdrasil in South Africa and Africa. The games offered by Yggdrasil are of outstanding quality and will have a significant role to play in the market. I am extremely excited about this partnership.”
With an established footprint and years of experience in the African market, IGL can take advantage of the GATI™ (Game Adaption Tools & Interface) technology offered by Yggdrasil. This enables Franchise partners to decide which gaming content they will distribute based on their target market. They are also able to cross-collaborate with other Franchisees on a global scale.
Punters can also expect exciting third-party games from the YG Masters program offered by Yggdrasil. Here the iGaming provider curates the best from independent game studios and presents it to the industry on their licensed platforms.
A Good Call
Yggdrasil has many popular brands in their arsenal of partners and we think it is high time for the sun to shine on Africa too. With 2020 and 2021 setting records in the online casino world, it is only fitting that this partnership has been launched as well.
