Leaving a Legacy With Your Online Poker Winnings

Bankroll Beneficiary

Whether you play poker for fun or because you’re an aspiring Doyle Brunson, chances are you plan on having the winnings paid out to you. If, for some reason, you do not claim your winnings, it invariably stays in the pocket of the poker site.

Winning Poker Network’s Americas Cardroom announced the launch of their Bankroll Beneficiaries initiative to roll-out at the end of June 2021.

A WPN spokesperson said:

“Our players trust us with their time and money, and we trust each other to do right by our players and our business.”

Let’s take a look at how the initiative will operate and what can be expected.

What Makes This a Game Changer?

Making use of the Bankroll Beneficiary initiative ensures that your winnings make a difference when you no longer can. We all have an inevitable truth to face: This life ends for us at some point, be it anticipated or not.

Americas Cardroom suggests that their players be mindful of this when setting up a player profile. Come 30 June 2021, players will have the option of selecting beneficiaries, who will receive a pay-out in the event of the account being dormant for a specified amount of time.

This initiative is the first of its kind and changes the way the market may consider dealing with similar situations going forward.

How Will it Work?

Players will be able to add the beneficiaries of their choice to their player profiles. The player will select what percentage of their bankroll will be paid to each of the beneficiaries and in which crypto currency.

That’s right! The bankroll will be paid to your beneficiaries in one of the available cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, so make sure your loved ones have crypto wallets set up.

Releasing Funds to Your Beneficiaries

This is what makes this benefit rather unique! The player decides how long the account needs to be inactive for before the payout is triggered. I bluff you not. However, if you decide to take a year sabbatical from poker and forget that you set a timeline of 12 months, don’t fear as they won’t just payout because you said so. They will reach out to you twice during the month before the scheduled pay-out.

As they state in their manifesto: “Trust is money on the table.” Americas Cardroom is putting their money where their mouth is and that is something to consider when deciding on where to place your bets.
